Visa Credit Card
There are so many Visa credit cards available. There are personal cards, student
cards, and business cards. There's Visa Classic, Visa Secured, Visa Gold, Visa
Platinum, Visa Signature, Visa Reward cards, and Smart Visa cards. Basically
whatever type of credit card you are looking for you can find it with Visa.
Visa Classic
Visa Classic is your basic credit card. It's meant for first time credit card
holders, which means the requirements aren’t as strict but the interest rate is
likely to be higher and the credit limit lower.
Visa Secured
This is a secured Visa credit card. You have to deposit money in a savings
account or CD (certificate of deposit) in your name to act as the collateral
against this card. In the case that you don't pay your bills the money in your
savings account or CD will be confiscated and you will no longer have use of
that card. However, if you are responsible and pay your credit card bill every
month on time a Visa Secured will help to build or rebuild your credit score.
This makes this card ideal for a first time credit card user or for someone who
can't get a credit card elsewhere.
Visa Gold
This card has basic benefits but the approval requirements are higher (you must
have good credit). The interest rate you get on this card is likely to be lower
than that of Visa Classic since you have to have a good credit history. Also,
your credit limit will be higher.
Visa Platinum
Visa Platinum is a step up from Visa Gold. It has steeper requirements, larger
credit limit, and depending on your credit score and the particular offer you
can get, a lower interest rate.
Visa Signature
This is a high end credit card. It offers rewards, concierge services, and
invitations to exclusive events such as concerts and plays. Obviously, you will
need a very good credit history to obtain this card.
Rewards Cards
Apart from Visa Signature, Visa offers other rewards cards that may be easier to
qualify for. With these you can earn rewards such as frequent flyer miles. You
can also support a favorite charity through a Visa Rewards Card.
Smart Visa Cards
This is the ideal card for online shopping. It contains a computer chip, which
holds 100 times the information of most any other credit card. This adds
security to all of your purchases whether online or off.
Obtaining a Visa Credit Card
There are innumerable Visa credit cards. You can search, compare, and apply
online. You can go to a local bank and most likely they will have several Visa
credit cards to choose from. Ultimately, you need to figure out which Visa card
is best for you and which offer really is the best deal. The Visa website has a
guide to help you decide.
